CHURCH OF MAGDALENE
A gathering for women devoted to embodiment, ritual, community, and the reclamation of the sacred feminine.
Ojai, California
Beginning October 2026
You are the altar.
Why Magdalene?
The Marys have been a thread woven through the fabric of my life since I was six years old.
That connection deepened in my early thirties, particularly with Magdalene, and eventually began to feel less like an interest and more like a calling. The more I listened to it, the more I received from it. The more I followed the thread, the more it seemed to reveal itself.
Church of Magdalene is an invitation to follow that thread together.
We’ll explore her story, the teachings and words attributed to her, the texts that include her, and the ways she has been interpreted, reshaped, misunderstood, and sometimes obscured throughout history.
One of the most familiar examples is the story many of us inherited that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute. She wasn’t. That identity was attached to her much later.
When we begin pulling on threads like this, much larger questions emerge. Questions about women, sexuality, power, devotion, the body, and the divine. About who gets to tell our stories, what gets remembered, what gets erased, and what might be ready to be reclaimed.
A different kind of church.
Church of Magdalene is a gathering for women. A place to ground, gather in community, deepen into devotion, and explore the stories, teachings, and archetype of Mary Magdalene together.
This is not a religious gathering. It isn’t Catholic, Christian, Jewish, or rooted in any one faith, nor are we trying to recreate what you might traditionally think of as church.
The word church is intentional.
To me, church is a place to gather in devotion, ritual, reflection, and community. A remembering of something perhaps older than our modern idea of church. A place where devotion is connected to nature, where prayer is experienced through the body, and where the sacred feminine can be reclaimed from centuries of being diminished, distorted, and shamed.
When we gather.
We begin with embodied prayer through breath, movement, and sound, allowing ourselves to arrive fully in our bodies and in the space together.
From there, we sit for a full hour of tea ceremony, followed by sharing in circle, reflection, conversation, and counsel.
There is space for what we bring into the room and for what emerges when women gather with presence, curiosity, and devotion.
Part ceremony. Part sisterhood. Part spiritual exploration and study.
Our first month.
For our first month, we’ll gather every Sunday in October from 10am–1pm in Ojai, California.
I wanted October to be an immersion. A chance to have the space and continuity to dive deeply into this world, this story, and this archetype together.
In the months that follow, our rhythm will shift as I begin traveling more frequently, so we won’t always gather every Sunday.
October is our threshold.

I am the first and the last.
I am she who is honored and she who is scorned.
I am the whore and the holy woman.
I am the wife and the virgin.
I am the bride and the bridegroom.
I am she, the Lord.

An Invitation
This story, this archetype, this thread has chosen me.
It has taken me years to fully say yes to bringing this work into the world. Not because I lacked passion for it, but because it has lived so close to my heart that sharing it has felt incredibly vulnerable.
But it has become increasingly clear that it is time.
To say her name.
To gather in her name.
To say yes.
She is not a posture, nor is she an outfit. She cannot be reduced down to the color red, nor the image of a rose. She is an energetic that is ready to be claimed. A truth that is felt. She is heart resonance.
And if something in you recognizes this thread too, I would love to gather with you.
Church of Magdalene begins this October in Ojai.
